Peter Chun, Group Executive Member Growth, First State Super

Peter joined First State Super in January 2020. He is responsible for leading First State Supers Brand, Marketing, Digital, Product and Business Development functions.

Before joining First State Super, Peter was the General Manager Strategy & Transformation at Colonial First State (CFS). Prior to this, he was CFS’s General Manager Distribution and also General Manager Product & Investments, as well as acting Executive General Manager for the overall CFS business in both 2016 and 2019.

He has previously held a number of other senior management roles within the financial services sector.

Catherine Nance, Partner, PwC

Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for over 15 years specialising in superannuation, investment, insurance and financial services.

Catherine leads many of PwC’s superannuation/pension retirement policy initiatives, including the current member outcomes reforms which will result in widespread rationalisation of superannuation funds in Australia. Previously, Catherine has led other initiatives on superannuation, Ageing Australia and the impact of the ageing population on products, services and workforce.

For many large superannuation funds, Catherine has advised on strategy and due diligence for mergers and outsourcing arrangements over the past 5-10 years.

In addition to which Catherine holds a number of board and advisory positions across the financial services sector.

Kirby Rappell, Executive Director, SuperRatings

Kirby was appointed Executive Director of SuperRatings in October 2017 and is responsible for setting SuperRatings strategy and ensuring we continue to provide the best possible Ratings, Research, Consulting and insights to our clients. He has worked to build a strong relationship with funds, service providers and key industry stakeholders to ensure we have a strong understanding of the market, and communicating back to the market where opportunities for uplift in value for super fund members exist.

Kirby has been with SuperRatings since 2008. During his time at SuperRatings, Kirby has work as a Quantitative Analyst before becoming responsible for our Research team in 2011.

Kirby has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney (Finance and Accounting) and is a CFA Charterholder.


David Haynes, Senior Policy Manager, AIST

As AIST’s Senior Policy Manager, David has spent the last 10 years working closely with Parliament, Government, Treasury, all regulators and other key stakeholders in developing and implementing all aspects of superannuation policy, including all regulatory changes and major projects such as the Financial Services Royal Commission, default fund selection, and the Insurance in Super Code

David has 30 years’ experience in the industry including time as the CEO of Industry Fund Services and AUSfund, an executive at Members Equity, as an account manager for a major adminstrator, and as a trustee of superannuation funds.

David holds a parallel role as Executive Superannuation Policy Advisor at IQ Group.  He has also been a director of numerous private and public sector board.
