Tjerk Huysinga,

Tjerk Huysinga was born in Leiden, the Netherlands. He graduated at the Groningen University in 1987 (Business Economics) and, after concluding his military service with the Royal Dutch Navy, joined the Shell Group in 1989. His first position was Assistant Treasurer for Shell’s metals marketing and trading business (Billiton).
He then joined Shell’s chemicals business to work as a business analyst and in a second assignment as the controller of Shell Nederland Chemie at Shell’s Pernis site in the Netherlands. In 1996 Tjerk moved to the United Kingdom to join Shell Trading as the finance advisor in the crude oil trading business. After this assignment he was part of the leadership team establishing Shell’s European Gas and Power trading business as the General Manager Finance and IT.
During the period 2002 to 2006 Tjerk held the position as Vice President Finance and Planning for Shell Energy Europe, the organization which managed all Shell’s gas and power trading, wholesale and industrial & commercial activities across Europe.
From 2006 to 2012 Tjerk was Vice President Investor Relations, responsible for all contacts and relationship management with current and potential institutional shareholders of Royal Dutch Shell outside of North America.
In February 2013, Tjerk was appointed Vice President Controller Upstream and Projects and Technology, where he has got a global remit on all controlling activities across Shell’s upstream businesses.
Since October 2017, Tjerk is Executive Vice President Investor Relations.
Tjerk is married with Suzanne, a medical doctor, and they have got three daughters. Tjerk enjoys playing tennis, running, cooking and reading.
