Kate Bromley, Head of Responsible Investment, QIC

Kate Bromley is Head of Responsible investment at QIC. Kate joined QIC in 2016 and has almost 15 years’ experience holding ESG roles in the investment management industry. Working closely with the QIC Board and executive team, Kate leads and implements QIC’s ESG strategy and works with QIC’s investment teams to apply ESG integration strategies. Specifically, Kate leads QIC’s work on climate resilience to understand physical and transition risks and opportunities from an asset manager perspective.

QIC has been a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) since 2008. QIC is also a member of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA), the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). In addition to representing QIC in these forums, Kate chairs the IGCC’s Climate Adaptation Working Group. Kate is also a member on a Technical Working Group for the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative, a collaborative cross-sectoral initiative tasked with delivering a Sustainable Finance Roadmap for Australia.

Previously, Kate worked at QSuper where she led the development of the fund’s ESG program. She graduated with honours from the University of London with a degree in English, holds a Masters of Journalism from the University of Queensland and has undertaken studies in Applied Finance.


Melinda White, Investment Director, Active Equities, IFM Investors

Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce (University of Sydney), CPA

Melinda leads the analysis, research and portfolio management of IFM Investors’ Small Cap and Micro Cap portfolios. Bringing more than 19 years of buy-side investment experience across both domestic and global equities markets, Melinda’s previous roles have been with Fidelity International, Ellerston, Schroders, Global Value Investors and Investors Mutual. 

Within IFM, Melinda sits on the ESG Champions Group and is a member of the IFM Proxy Voting & Engagement Committee. As part of the active equities team she engages with company management and boards on various ESG initiatives, most recently advocating for greater board diversity across the ASX300 and voting matters. IFM Investors is a member of the 30% Club Investor Working Group and Melinda represents the firm in this forum.
