In a seemingly endless wave of natural disasters and global pandemics, our mental state often seems only to exacerbate an already difficult situation. To help us navigate this natural tendency, we’ll be joined by Professor Jill Klein, as she explains how we can build our mental resilience during COVID-19 and how we should prepare for our re-entry to the workplace.

Professor Jill Klein, Professor of Marketing, Melbourne Business School

Professor of Marketing at Melbourne Business School and a Professorial Fellow in Medical Education at Melbourne Medical School, Jill Klein received her PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1990. During the following seven years she was a member of faculty in the Marketing Department at Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. She spent periods as Visiting Professor at The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University and the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas - Austin. From 1997 through 2008 she was on the faculty at INSEAD, in both France and Singapore.

Jill Klein splits her time between Melbourne Business School and Melbourne Medical School. Her teaching specialties are Decision-Making, Resilience, and Leadership. Her research interests are medical decision making, coping with medical error, medical student resilience, corporate social responsibility, and international marketing, including the effects of international hostility on consumer perceptions of foreign products. She has had articles published in the Journal of Marketing, Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Management Science, the Journal of International Business Studies and the British Medical Journal.

Jeff Wallens, Education & Training Consultant, AIST

Jeff commenced working with AIST as a Training Consultant in January 2019. He brings 20 years of financial services and superannuation experience to AIST, in roles ranging from customer service, member education, employer account management, and corporate super planning and advice.

Jeff currently holds a Diploma of Financial Planning.

His previous employers include Telstra Super, NAB Financial Planning, AON, Aviva and Health Super.
