Dr. Peder Beck-Friis, Portfolio Manager, Global Macro, PIMCO (UK)

Dr. Beck-Friis is a senior vice president and portfolio manager in the London office. He focuses on identifying global macroeconomic trends, with a particular emphasis on Europe. He is a member of the European Portfolio Committee. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2017, he worked at Goldman Sachs, first within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) in New York and later as an economist in London. He has nine years of macro research experience and holds a master's degree and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oxford. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Edinburgh.


Gilles Moëc, Group Chief Economist, AXA (UK)

Gilles Moëc has been the AXA Group Chief Economist and the Head of AXA IM Research since June 2019.

Between 1994 and 2006, he held several positions in the French civil service, at the national statistical institute (INSEE) and at the French central bank (Banque de France) as Head of the International Economics Division. In 2006, he was appointed Senior European Economist at Bank of America then became, in 2009, Chief European Economist of Deutsche Bank. From 2014 to 2019, he was the Chief European Economist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Gilles graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris in 1991.


Karen Ward, Chief Market Strategist, EMEA, J.P. Morgan Asset Management (UK)

Karen Ward is Chief Market Strategist for EMEA at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Karen has considerable experience in both public policymaking, and economic and financial analysis. Before joining in 2017, she was Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers for the Chancellor of the Exchequer, advising the Chancellor on macroeconomic issues including fiscal strategy and Brexit. Prior to this she worked at HSBC’s investment bank in numerous roles, including Senior Global Economist where her work included "The World in 2050 – An Analysis of the Structural Changes Affecting the Global Economy and the Rise of the Emerging Economies." She was Chief European Economist before leaving to work for the Chancellor in 2016. She started her career at the Bank of England providing supporting analysis for the Monetary Policy Committee. Karen has a Masters with Distinction in Economics from University College London.
