Claudia Kruse, Managing Director Global Responsible Investment & Governance, APG Asset Management (NLD)

As Managing Director Global Responsible Investment & Governance Claudia Kruse is part of the management team of the investment function reporting into the Chief Investment Officer on the Board of APG Asset Management. APG manages pension assets of ca 515 billion euro (April 2020) on behalf of Dutch pension funds. The twenty people strong global RI & Governance team based in Amsterdam, New York and Hongkong, safeguards the implementation of the clients’ responsible investment policies across all asset classes.

Before joining APG in 2009, she worked on the buy and sell-side in London for almost a decade. She is an experienced non-profit board member and serves on the Board of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). Since 2016 she has been appointed to the German Corporate Governance Code Commission, and she was a member of the EU Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (2017) whose recommendations inspired the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance. In 2016 she was voted CIO Europe’s Next Generation CIO Award winner.

In July 2020, APG together with PGGM, AustralianSuper and British Columbia Investment Management launched the Asset Owner Platform, setting a global standard for investing into the Sustainable Development Goals. Claudia co-chairs the Principles for Responsible Investment’s Advisory Committee on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and APG is also a member of the UN initiative Global Investors for Sustainable Development (GISD) which seeks to advance investment into the SDGs.

Claudia studied International Management & Chinese, and has an MSc Tourism & Development (UCL, London). She has lived in Germany, China, the UK and now the Netherlands. She has inter alia published on the Governance of Sustainability and the integration of sustainability into remuneration which reflects her strong belief in the connection between good governance and sustainability.


Guido Moret, Head of Sustainability Integration Credits, Robeco (NLD)

Guido Moret is Head of Sustainability Integration Credits with Robeco, responsible for enhancing the synthesis of sustainability information in credit investment processes. This pertains to Robeco’s impact products, which aim to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to our traditional investment strategies. Before joining Robeco in 2017, Guido was a Manager in EY’s Climate Change & Sustainability Services department. He started his career in 2012 at Société Générale. Guido holds a (cum laude) Master’s in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam, with specializations in Finance and Sustainability.


Allison Spector, Director, Sustainability, Real Assets & Private Markets, Nuveen (US)

Allison works in sustainability for Nuveen real assets and private markets. She is responsible for implementing environmental, social, governance (ESG), sustainability and impact initiatives across the real assets and private markets portfolios, including farmland, timber, private equity and private debt. She develops and executes strategies for impact measurement and reporting and assists with pre-investment due diligence and monitoring related to ESG, sustainability and impact.

Prior to joining the firm, Allison worked for the Global Impact Investing Network, where she led impact investing industry development efforts and advised institutional investors on responsible and impact investing strategies. Previously, she advised large fintech and agribusiness companies on sustainable business strategies and impact measurement and she also worked for PlaNet Finance in China.

Allison graduated with a B.A., summa cum laude, in International Studies from Emory University and an M.Sc. in Sustainable Development from the School of Oriental and Asian Studies at the University of London, where she focused on sustainable agriculture.

Sonya Sawtell-Rickson, Chief Investment Officer, HESTA

Sonya was appointed to the role of Chief Investment Officer in July 2017. Sonya is responsible for overseeing HESTA’s $52 billion global investment program and leads a team of investment professionals, working with the HESTA Board and Investment Committee, to develop and execute the investment framework and strategy of the Fund. Prior to joining HESTA, Sonya was an Investment Director at QIC, overseeing multi-asset class portfolios in excess of $45 billion.

Sonya holds a Masters of Applied Finance, Bachelor of Arts (Economics & Political Science), is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Companies Directors and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
