Kumar Kalyanakumar, Head of Australia, Real Assets, AXA Investment Managers

Kumar Kalyanakumar is Head of Australia – Real Assets at AXA Investment Managers.

He is also one of the founders of Eureka Funds Management which became the Australian Real Assets platform of AXA Investment Managers post its acquisition in 2016.

Kumar's primary focus is to drive the strategic direction of the business in the Australian market including, new business initiatives, real assets investments and management of client relationships.  He is also a member of the Fund Financial Report Committee, Global Real Assets Investment Committee and Global Leadership Group of AXA Investment Managers.

Kumar has over 35 years experience in the areas of banking, finance and funds management and has held various senior roles within major Australian institutions.

Prior to joining AXA, Kumar was the Fund Manager of the Colonial Property Hotel Fund (CPHF) and prior to that was a senior manager at Westpac Institutional Bank.

Kumar has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business.

Robert Pepicelli, General Manager, Strategy and Capital Markets, ISPT

Rob Pepicelli was appointed General Manager Strategy and Capital Markets in 2008 and is responsible for shaping investment strategies across the ISPT business by integrating market intelligence in the investment process. This includes identifying emerging investment themes and providing strategic advice to support investment decisions by addressing structural and cyclical changes in the market, disruption and its effect on property and economic participants. Rob also leads the development of new investment products in new sectors. Previously at ISPT, Rob held the roles of Chief Investment Officer, Fund Manager and Property Investment Manager across all sectors.

Rob is a qualified valuer and has been involved in property and funds management for over 29 years, previously holding direct and listed property related roles at AMP and JLL. He is a member of the PCA’s Market Trends Roundtable.


Jeff Wallens, Education and Training Consultant, AIST

Jeff commenced working with AIST as a Training Consultant in January 2019. He brings 20 years of financial services and superannuation experience to AIST, in roles ranging from customer service, member education, employer account management, and corporate super planning and advice.

Jeff currently holds a Diploma of Financial Planning.

His previous employers include Telstra Super, NAB Financial Planning, AON, Aviva and Health Super.
