Damian Graham, Chief Investment Officer, Aware Super

As Chief Investment Officer, Damian is responsible for the investment strategy of both First State Super and StatePlus, the financial planning company purchased by First State Super in 2016.

Damian brings over 27 years’ experience managing equity portfolios and investment teams. Between 2012-16 Damian was Chief Investment Officer at StatePlus. He previously headed up Private Portfolio Management for the Macquarie Group, where he was promoted to run that business following a successful tenure as Head of Investment within the same division.

Damian has also held senior positions within Norwich Investment Management and JP Morgan Investment Management.


Justine Hickey, Independent Director, Togethr Trustees

Formerly a senior executive in the funds management industry, Justine is a professional non-executive director having sat on the boards of ASX listed companies, private companies, superannuation funds and not for profits. 

Justine is an independent trustee director of Togethr Trustees and was previously a director of EquipSuper and prior to that the Rio Tinto Staff Super Fund. She chairs the Investment Committee that has oversight of both the Equip and Catholic Super Funds.

Justine also chairs the boards of fund manager, DNR Capital and RSPCA QLD

She is a BCom (UQ); Graduate of AICD; Fellow of FinSIA; Trustee Fellow of ASFA; Associate of CFA Institute.


Catherine Nance, Partner, PwC

Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for over 15 years specialising in superannuation, investment, insurance and financial services.

Catherine leads many of PwC’s superannuation/pension retirement policy initiatives, including the current member outcomes reforms which will result in widespread rationalisation of superannuation funds in Australia. Previously, Catherine has led other initiatives on superannuation, Ageing Australia and the impact of the ageing population on products, services and workforce.

For many large superannuation funds, Catherine has advised on strategy and due diligence for mergers and outsourcing arrangements over the past 5-10 years.

In addition to which Catherine holds a number of board and advisory positions across the financial services sector.

Graeme Russell, Former Chief Executive Officer, Media Super

Graeme Russell has extensive experience in superannuation governance, management and investment.

Graeme was CEO of Media Super (2013-20) and First Super (2008-12), and previously an Independent Director of Media Super, TISS and JUST Super.

Graeme was Chief of Staff for Victoria’s Minister for Public Transport and The Arts (2007-08).

He was previously an industry and international partnerships executive at Melbourne and Monash Universities, Commercial Manager at the Trade Union Training Authority, CFO for STA Travel and CFO at a newspaper publisher.

Graeme was also a strategy consultant and Chartered Accountant in practice.

Graeme is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

His community service includes Member of the Independent Panel on Best Practice Union Governance, Trustee of the Sustainable Melbourne Fund, Foundation Chairperson of the Inner Metropolitan Regional Association of Councils and Councillor and Mayor of the City of Collingwood.
