The Scholarship program provides a variety of knowledge and skills-based training to the next generation of trustee directors in Australia’s 1.6 trillion profit-to-member super sector. The 12 month program is sponsored by IFM Investors and supported by AIST and the ACTU in honour of the inaugural and former IFM Investors Chair and industry pioneer, Garry Weaven.
The winners of the 2022 scholarship are:

Dean Brakell, GAIST
Trustee Director, First Super

Helen Cooney, GAIST
Trustee Director, Rest

Emeline Gaske, GAIST
Trustee Director, HESTA

Sharife Rahmani
Trustee Director, Equip
AIST CEO Eva Scheerlinck said although the scholarship winners had different backgrounds, experience and skills, they shared a commitment to the profit-to-member ethos and a passion for making a difference in the lives of working Australians.
“As the peak body for this sector, AIST wishes Dean, Helen, Emeline and Sharife well with the program and looks forward to them applying the knowledge they gain for the benefit of fund members over the rest of their careers as trustee directors,” Ms Scheerlinck said.
