The boundaries of factual information and advice

This three hour session provides participants with the skills and tools they need to outline the different types of financial advice defined in the Corporations Act, to understand advice disclosure requirements and best practice in the provision of general advice to superannuation members.

  • Outline the role of ASIC as an industry regulator
  • Express an awareness of the structure under which advice is provided
  • Distinguish facts and information, general advice and personal advice
  • Explain the purpose of Regulatory Guide (RG) 244
  • Demonstrate confidence in speaking with members and providing them with information or advice
