Daniel Murphy

Engagement Manager, McKinsey & Company / QuantumBlack

Daniel is an Engagement Manager with McKinsey / QuantumBlack in Australia, and a leader in McKinsey’s Financial Institutions practice. Recently, Daniel has overseen projects including digital strategy and transformation in insurance, large scale performance improvement in banking and analytics-led customer value management in telecommunications. Daniel’s passion is helping his clients deliver real value from digital and analytics.

Prior to McKinsey, Daniel has over 10 years experience in the Finance sector. Originally an actuarial consultant in Life Insurance, Daniel conducted valuations for capital reserving and M&A transactions. Subsequently, Daniel was a derivatives trader and led options trading desks in Hong Kong and the USA through the Global Financial Crisis.

In his spare time, Daniel likes to get active in the outdoors with his wife and two children and is a keen runner and skier.
