Through her involvement as a director on the BUSS(Q) superannuation board, Sonya understands the importance of good governance and training for directors to ensure optimum outcomes for members and believes these elements combined with the increased regulatory scrutiny by APRA and changing legislative framework means AIST has an essential role to lead and advocate on behalf of its members.

As a recipient of the Garry Weaven Emerging Scholarship, and having participated in AIST courses, Sonya believes AIST has provided her with significant opportunities to understand and contribute to the superannuation industry.  Recently appointed Deputy Chair of the AIST Trustee Special Interest Group Sonya looks forward to  contributing further to AIST’s ongoing success by bringing her extensive governance, legal and directorship experience to the board of AIST.
