The Governance Perspective: 2010 and beyond - Luncheon

Melbourne: Tuesday, 23 February 2010

Speakers:

The Hon. Justice Neville Owen, Senior judge of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Western Australia & Commissioner of the HIH Royal Commission.

MC: Ian Robertson, Chair AIST

With a new decade upon us and the previous decade exposing some major issues with the governance of some of the largest global financial institutions through corporate collapses and the global financial crisis, what have we learnt?  Do we need further regulation imposed on financial institutions or do we need to take a long hard look at the motivations and influences that have caused greed, mismanagement and very poor decision making?  The esteemed Hon. Justice Owen will give his perspective on why some of these events have occurred and what superannuation funds need to consider when governing in 2010 and beyond.
